The man and his wife had set their sights on a house in Torslanda outside Gothenburg that cost over 10 million kroner. In order to be able to borrow the amount that was needed – approximately 7.6 million – he stated that he had a monthly salary of 95,000 kroner before tax, while his wife allegedly earned just over 64,000 kroner per month.
But the information did not add up – the two employment certificates sent to the bank to prove income were in fact fake.
In addition, the couple had a tax debt of SEK 5 million. When the tangle was unraveled, a process was initiated and the house was sold.
The dentist is convicted of serious fraud, serious tax crime and aiding and abetting serious tax crime. In addition to the prison sentence, he is also banned from eating for three years. Another man is sentenced to four months in prison for helping to set up the false employment certificates.
The wife, on the other hand, is acquitted because the district court does not consider it proven that she knew what was going on.
