Denmark and Greenland replies Trump about annexation

The United States has long had great opportunities to use Greenland for military purposes, but Trump believes that the island must be under US control with reference to security purposes.

– We will get Greenland, yep, 100 percent, he says in an interview with NBC News.

It is quite possible that it can happen without the United States taking military means, according to Trump, but he adds in the interview that all alternatives remain on the table.

The answer: will not take Greenland

Greenland’s new head of government Jens-Frederrik Nielsen from liberal democraatitis answers Trump to speech.

“President Trump says the United States is taking Greenland”. Let me be clear: the United States will not. We do not belong to anyone else. We decide on our own future, “he writes in a statement.

The last few weeks have been turbulent for Greenland. We have a number of American plays side of elections and government formation, including annexation, has made the island at the center of global security policy.

“We should not react with fear. We must react with calm, dignity and unity,” writes Jens-Frederrik Nielsen.

Denmark’s Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen also reacts strongly to Trump’s words and now wants to raise the issue with other foreign ministers in NATO.

“We cannot have a NATO ally that in this way suggests that one will annex another NATO country territory,” he says in Agenda.
