From the early hours of the morning, the walkers arriving in small groups began to occupy the Fest’africa space in the 6th arrondissement of Ndjamena. While waiting for the start of the demonstration, the atmosphere is heated.
They set off more than an hour late, a march punctuated by stops during which messages are delivered. A demonstrator harangues the crowd with his megaphone: “ Is there freedom in Chad ? “. What the demonstrators answer in chorus: No “. “ We kill Chadians, we murder Chadians, we violate laws, we violate fundamental rights and France is linked to it. Is it normal ?! »
A trailing French flag and Russian flags appearing
Throughout the journey, a French flag was dragged on the ground. All the leaders who spoke denounced France’s support for the transitional government in place in the country. This is the case of the president of the Les Démocrates party, Professor Avocksouma Djona: “ Today, France must understand that by taking the side of a party, it does not help the situation of the Chadian people. »
Flags of Russia appeared in the crowd, echoing protests in other West African countries.
