Many people went to Storvreta and Fullerö to remember Soha, 24, who was killed in the blast.
The light manifestations included prayers and fellowship – and mixed love and sorrow.
– The good will always win, says Danilo, one of the participants.
24-year-old Soha Saad was killed when a bomb detonated at her home outside Uppsala during the night of Thursday. The act has caused great anger and sadness throughout the country.
During Sunday evening, many people gathered in both Storvreta and Fullerö to participate in light demonstrations organized by the Church of Sweden to draw attention to the recent escalating gang violence.
“Want to show my child that there are good forces”
In the Storvreta center, children and adults were there to light candles, say prayers and remember Soha Saad.
– I think of the family that lost their daughter, and I also want to show my child that there are good forces in society, says Mikaela, who was there with her daughter Stina.
– I am so happy that we live in Storvreta, because there is a community here. It’s clear that the terrible things that happen come up often, but you try to counteract it and it’s nice to get an opportunity like this, she says about the demonstration.
“Good will always win”
TV4 Nyheterna has also spoken to Danilo, who is also there to draw attention to society’s good forces.
– It is important to show what is good and that we are not scared away. The good will always win, and it is important that we do it together and that we are here, he says.
Danilo also says that Soha Saad is with him in his thoughts.
– I hope that children and young people who are here see that there are people who care, he says.
