Demonstration in Jönköping against Lisa, 9, being deported

In the clip above, Lisa talks about the feelings and joy at the support she and her family have received.

It was in the spring of 2023 that Lisa’s guardians Paulina and Hans Backström received the news about her deportation to Albania. After that, the family home parents tried to adopt her, but were refused in both the district court and the Göta Court of Appeal in Jönköping.

Lisa, 9, can be deported to Albania

  • Lisa’s case is discussed here – on Albanian television

  • Over 100 reports against the Swedish Migration Agency in the case of Lisa

  • Don’t give up

Lisa’s foster mother Paulina Backström says that they are affected every day by the Migration Agency’s decision.

    – It has been hard, but we don’t give up. We are very affected by not knowing and having to fight so much for an obvious thing, she says.

Someone who claims to be Lisa’s father got in touch

Paulina Backström tells us that a man from Albania got in touch via the media and claimed to be Lisa’s biological father.

    – We are waiting for confirmation first. But our attachment to Lisa is the strongest and a separation from us will be far too traumatic for Lisa, she says.

    What will happen next?

    – Our lawyers have submitted to the Supreme Court and to the Swedish Migration Agency, and are waiting for a positive response.
