Renovating the theatre is not an option due to the high costs. The building from 1988 was simply poorly built, says the theatre director. “Cheap turns out to be expensive.” The building is scheduled to be demolished in two years. “That has to happen, because otherwise the maintenance costs will be very high.” For example, the hoisting system from which the lights and curtains hang will be written off in 2026. “Replacing it will cost more than a million, and that’s all.”
