    The Center Party’s Muharrem Demirok is critical of the inquiry proposal on government loans and price guarantees to whoever builds nuclear power.

    In Ekot’s Saturday interview he says that the Center Party does not want to subsidize any new nuclear power in Sweden, but that nuclear power must bear its own costs.

    – With the investigation that has now been presented, it is unbelievable what cost will be imposed on the Swedish taxpayers, says Muharrem Demirok.

    He is, however, open to discussions about government support if they would also include other fossil-free power types.

In the district court, she was acquitted on that point and sentenced to 12 years in prison for attempted murder after shooting through an apartment door where several people were.

    Something has detonated in a stairwell on Södergatan in Helsingborg.

    The national bomb squad has been called there and residents in the stairwell are asked to remain in their apartments.

    We are in the process of securing the location and then we work with witness interviews and see if there may be any person or activity in the property that may have had an intended threat image, but that is not clear at the moment, says Magnus Lefévre.

    No one should be injured. No person has been deprived of liberty and the incident is classified as gross destruction of public danger.

    At 05.30 the site was still cordoned off.

  • Man exposed to attempted murder in Linköping

    A man in his 40s was stabbed outside in Linköping on Friday evening, which Corren first reported.

    Just before nine o’clock, a passer-by alerted the police after he discovered blood outside in central Linköping.

    – Later, after some investigative work, an injured person is located in an apartment. It turns out that he was attacked with some kind of stabbing weapon at the scene outside, says Erik Creutz, officer on duty at the police, to TT.

    The man is being treated in hospital with serious injuries, but his condition is said to be stable. The police have launched a preliminary investigation into attempted murder and have carried out a technical investigation at the scene.

    No suspected perpetrator is yet in custody.

    A US drone has killed a leader of an al-Qaida-allied group in northwestern Syria, according to the US military’s Middle East Command Center, Centcom.

    Abu Abdul Rahman Makki was killed while riding a motorcycle. According to Centcom, he was the leader of the Horas al-Din group and responsible for organizing terrorist attacks from Syria.

    The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) says he was a Saudi national.

  • Swedish mustard under threat – after a new verdict

    The management of the food company Kavli, which produces 80 percent of all Swedish mustard, has been sitting in crisis meetings on Friday, reports Skånska Dagbladet.
