Two men are required to pay several million kroner in damages for surreptitiously photographing schoolgirls over several years.

This week, the trial begins for serious child pornography offenses for the illegal photography at a school in Karlstad over an eight-year period. Over 160 girls are said to have been exposed.

The two accused men are required to pay seven million kroner in damages for gross violation, reports Sweden’s Radio Värmland. It is about between 25,000 and 75,000 kroner per girl.

“They have been extremely seriously violated,” says lawyer Elisabeth Massi Fritz, who represents the girls, to the radio.

The two accused men must have used the material when they masturbated, according to the lawyer. The material must also have been disseminated further.

“There is a spread, the children have been able to be identified by name, face and age,” says Massi Fritz.

Both men agreed to pay damages, according to the radio.
