The Delhi Kinsmen Pool will be closed for renovations this summer.
Plans call for renovations to the Kinsmen pool building and the pool shell to be replaced. Work is expected to begin on March 6 and be completed by the end of September.
Norfolk County council has awarded a $1,332,287 contract to PK Construction of Tillsonburg to complete the project. The contract includes the $1,298,700 tender submitted by the construction company and an additional $33,587 to cover other repairs including ceiling finishes and the pool recirculating system.
Funding for the project will come from the county’s general building reserve and a Trillium Foundation grant of $500,000.
Council had set aside $1,597,000 for the renovations to the Kinsmen pool.
The renovations will help extend the life of the pool, a report prepared by the county staff says.
