Deleting free parking on public holidays causes irritation in Utrecht: ‘Tax increase under the guise of inclusion’

Deleting free parking on public holidays causes irritation in Utrecht

The plan is to abolish free parking on public holidays from 1 January. This is the result of a motion adopted last year by GroenLinks, D66, Party for the Animals and Student & Starter. According to these groups, the current parking policy creates uncertainty and is not equivalent. The groups point out that free parking now only applies on Christian holidays, such as Christmas and Easter, and not on important holidays from other religions.
