Dejan Kulusevski has for some years been considered one of the world’s most exciting and promising players. But after being recruited to Juventus, he had a hard time getting the most out of his capacity, and he often had to play in a more defensive position than he wanted.

Stood for huge miss

It was an unexpected move to the Premier League and Tottenham in the spring – and talk about it coming loose. In total, there were 18 matches for the top team – where he accounted for five goals and a total of 13 points. He was thus a big reason why the club reached the Champions League place, and he has been hailed as a key player already.

Kulusevski seems to be enjoying the storm, and the fans have already made an acclaimed rhyme for the Swede. And now fans have another reason to praise him. In the podcast “Then we’re up and running”, with Anis don Demina, Kulusevski talks about a brutal mistake he made in the last round – and his honest words are really loved by the fans.

Praise for the words

Kulusevski says:

– A lot of fat stuff happened. A guy hijacks me when I get free, and I think if I lie down he will get a red card. But I just thought, “No, no, I have to score.” I run, dribble past the goalkeeper, and I have an open goal. And I do not like to have an open goal. There are too many thoughts. You can only lose on that, he says.

He continues:

– I see that I have an open goal, and I take another touch. Then I see Son, my teammate. Heung my Son, he wanted the ball. He needed a goal to win the shooting league, and we had talked about giving him the ball.

Dejan Kulusevski decided to ignore the goal, but everything turned out to be a pancake.

– I fit, but when I fit, then I get stuck with my foot in the ground. So the ball rolls and it became something in between, so the hill could clear on the goal line. I was just thinking, “Brother, Dejan, what the hell are you doing? You’re a real idiot! ” I was so ashamed. Then two minutes later I scored.

Kulusevski’s words about how he tried to help Son have, however, caused fans to melt, and he is hugely praised for the words, which spread like wildfire in a clip on social media, with English translation.
