Degerfors to Allsvenskan: “It’s euphoria”

When the referee called off the draw in Landskrona, the red and white jubilation finally broke out.

The Degerfors players jumped around in a big happy group before running away towards one short side to celebrate the advancement together with the fans.

Got shivers

The goal-dangerous striker gave Degerfors a dream start to the second half when he neatly headed in 1-0 in the 48th minute.

It was still shivering.

Robin Dzabic equalized in the 59th minute and then Degerfors fought to hold on to the point required to secure play in the Allsvenskan next season.

Landskrona came close, as when Philip Andersson nodded from close range. But Degerfors rode out the storm.

Degerfors tightened their grip on first place in the super league via seven straight victories during the fall, which gave them a dream position to secure promotion to the Allsvenskan already last Tuesday.

Then the red and white victory train crossed.

Burned two match balls

In front of sold-out stands at Stora Valla, the home arena in the football-crazy small farm town, Degerfors lost 1–0 to 1–2 in the derby against Örebro.

Last Sunday, the Värmlanders burned a new opportunity to score the match ball when it was 0-0 away to Varberg.

In Landskrona there was thus no victory either. But 1–1 was enough and Degerfors now enters the final round with an unassailable lead over Landskrona and Öster close behind.
