Definitely the wrong judgement A really bad whistle that doesnt

In the ice hockey league match between JYP and Tappara, there was a much-talked-about ice court decision in the final set, which, according to many, should have gone the other way.

In the JYP match, Tappara was the better of the teams and deserved its victory, which finally came with three goals in the final set with a score of 4–0 in Jyväskylä.

JYP hung in the game until the 51st minute after losing 0–1 at that point. Then we saw a situation that also spoke after the match.

Home team JYP’s Canadian star Reid Gardiner ran through the drive, but in the situation he received strong stick interference from behind and also a push from the Tappara defender Kasper from Kulonum. Gardiner fell and collided with the oncoming goalkeeper Christian Heljankoo.

However, Gardiner went to the ice shelf, not Kulonummi in 50:52.

JYP head coach Jukka Rautakorpi stepped almost to the ice demanding the referee duo Joonas Kovalta and From Aaro Brännare explanations. The verdict did not change and the game turned definitively to the axe-breasts.

JYP didn’t get the penalty kick or superiority they wanted, but instead Anton Levtchi hit Tappara with a 2–0 goal advantage in 51:15. JYP’s backbone was broken here.

– Absolutely wrong judgment and a really bad whistle that does not belong in hockey, Rautakorpi commented to Puhe.

According to Rautakorvi, there was stick interference in the chaotic situation, and the JYP forward (Gardiner) tried to skate away from it, when the goalkeeper (Heljanko) came forward. The collision between the two was violent, but fortunately they survived without injuries.

– You have to be on your side when a situation like that comes up. You can’t get them (frozen) with water, especially at that point, said Rautakorpi.

The JYP coach saw no way that Gardiner had intentionally run over the goalkeeper.
