During a rescue operation in an ambulance, a defibrillator stopped working, reports P4 Malmöhus. Now lex Maria-reported the event. In the ambulance was a severely hypothermic man.

Staff struggled to keep the man alive before they could get a new defibrillator from another ambulance and then take the man to the emergency room.

The cold and the quick actions of the paramedics saved the man’s life, according to the ambulance company.

Newly purchased defibrillators have several times been found to be out of order in Scania ambulances.

In several cases, the problems have been linked to accessories such as plates, adhesives and extension cords. During the autumn, all accessories have been replaced.
