Ukrainian soldiers have occupied Russian land.
Sweden’s Minister of Defense Pål Jonson says in an interview in P1 Morgon that it may be that Ukraine wants to take territory for a possible later negotiation.
– Ukraine has the right to defend itself inside and outside its territory. The reason for this is that it is Russia that has started this unprovoked.
The Defense Materials Agency (FMV) is to review the possibilities of simplifying the military support to the country.
– Supporting Ukraine is an investment in our own security. If Russia were to win this terrible war, we would have significantly greater security problems than we have today.
The Nordic countries have entered into DCA agreements, a defense cooperation with the USA. Military weapons are more easily available in case of war, so they do not need to be transported from abroad.

The Swedish folk-pop group Smith & Thell is splitting up, the duo says in TV4’s Nyhetsmorgon.
– We have decided that we will do two concerts this autumn. We’ve been playing with each other and writing music with each other for more than half our lives now, says Maria Jane Smith.
Victor Thell adds that they feel tired.
– We see it as a break. I think all artists need breaks sometimes. We have toured 80 gigs per year, in recent years.
After the last gigs, they will focus on their solo careers.
– We have felt that we have to test life in our different directions, says Maria Jane Smith.
– Life wants this right now.
The duo was also a love couple for a long time, but has only been a musician’s partner for a few years.
Ukraine and Russia would send delegations to Doha this month to negotiate a deal to end attacks on energy and power infrastructure on both sides, diplomats and officials with knowledge of the matter told the Washington Post.
But the negotiations have now been put on hold after Ukraine’s offensive in Kursk.
A 15-year-old girl is injured after falling from the roof of an A-tractor in Västerhejde on Gotland.
At 00:00, the police receive an alert that a girl has been injured after falling off the flatbed of an A-tractor while traveling.
The girl was awake and able to speak when she was taken to hospital by ambulance, but the condition of her injuries is otherwise unclear.
The A-tractor was driven by a 15-year-old boy who does not have a driver’s license. He is suspected of illegal driving, causing bodily harm and negligence in traffic.

There is a fire at Högdalen’s recycling center in southern Stockholm.
– We have just arrived at the scene and are trying to form an opinion. There is a recycling pile in the area that burns on an area of 100 by 20 meters, says Marie Nordahl, line operator at the rescue service.
There are no reports of personal injuries.
– We will now get hold of those responsible and start the extinguishing work, says Marie Nordahl.
What caused the fire is still unclear.

Telecom giant Ericsson is selling the American subsidiary Iconectiv that it acquired in 2012.
The sale means the equivalent of SEK 10.6 billion for Ericsson after, among other things, settlement of expected taxes, the company writes in a press release.
At least 15 people have been killed after an Israeli attack in Gaza, writes Al Jazeera with reference to local media.
Aid workers are working to excavate bodies from the rubble of a warehouse that is said to have housed displaced people, according to Al Jazeera’s Arabic branch.
Two men in their 20s have been abused by one or more perpetrators, the police write.
A sharp knife must have been used on one of the men who received minor stab or cut injuries. The man was taken to hospital by ambulance.
No one is arrested.
At least 16 people have been killed and another 20 kidnapped in northeastern Congo-Kinshasa following a series of attacks carried out by a group linked to the Islamic State group, a representative of a local non-governmental organization said.
The attacks, which took place between Wednesday and Friday, targeted farmers and other civilians.
The eastern parts of Congo-Kinshasa have long been ravaged by more than 120 armed groups who, among other things, are fighting over control of mines.

A Swedish man died in a fall accident in Narvik in Norway on Friday, writes VG.
During Friday evening, the Norwegian police received an alarm about a fall accident from Branten in Narvik.
The Swedish man, who is in his 40s, was confirmed dead at the scene.
– The man was a participant in an orienteering race that had started in Sweden, the Norwegian police write on X.
The man’s relatives have been notified and the police will investigate the incident.
At least six people have been killed and another three injured in an Israeli air raid on a residential building in southern Lebanon overnight Saturday, Reuters reports, citing the Lebanese health authority.
Tensions in the region have risen significantly since the attack on the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights on July 27, in which twelve children were killed.
Just days later, a Hezbollah leader was killed in Beirut, who was singled out by Israel as responsible for the crime.
An apartment in Härnösand started to burn heavily on Friday evening. The emergency services were alerted at 22.41 and parts of the three-storey buildings were evacuated, while other residents were ordered to remain in their apartments.
The fire started in the kitchen and the police have started a preliminary investigation into public negligence, writes the newspaper Ångermanland.
One person has been taken to hospital with smoke inhalation.
During the night of Saturday, the police were on site in Traneberg in western Stockholm after a suspected assault.
– There has been an argument between some men. The plaintiff remained at the scene and had received blows. He should not be seriously injured, says duty officer Niklas Berglund.
The police have searched for suspected perpetrators in the area. No one is arrested.
For several hours on Friday evening, the police had a major operation in Kungsängen, north of Stockholm.
– Residents saw people sneaking around the area and perceived that one of them was carrying a weapon, says officer on duty Niklas Berglund.
No suspects have been arrested, but police have made findings that will be examined by technicians.
– There is no suspicion that it has been shot, but we have started a preliminary investigation into serious weapons offences, says Niklas Berglund.
