“These guys come from the lower classes, a few years ago, and they now have pitchers against them who throw harder. It takes time to adapt to that,” says coach Frank Koenen, who does not want to know that UVV play nothing. “Why shouldn’t there be tension? It is exciting for us, because we want to get to the first six. As a spectator, that tension may not be there, but we want to get to the first six.”
