That the governing politicians no longer saw any point in collecting the votes of the municipal residents was already announced on the same day that Dalavind withdrew the application to be allowed to build wind turbines in Noppikoski and Jordikamäkk.

But the formal decision was made by the entire council today after just over an hour of debate. 21 members voted yes, 9 voted no and 1 member abstained.

– The message from Dalavind puts an end to everything. Right now there is actually nothing to vote on, and it would be undemocratic to pursue it now that the issue is no longer relevant, municipal councilor Mikael Thalin (C) thought at the meeting.
The opposition did not want to interrupt
– It is interesting to see where the winds are blowing and what the Orsaborns have to say about this issue, even if Dalavind’s application is no longer there, considered Joakim Larsson from the Moderates who, together with the opposition parties Sweden Democrats and Christian Democrats, wanted the voting to continue.
All wind power in Orsa is deferred to the future
This morning, the municipal government also announced that they want to draw up an energy plan before releasing any new wind power projects – a task that is at least three years in the future.
