Chatham-Kent police are investigating a deceased person found inside an Edgar Street home in Chatham that had caught on fire early Saturday morning.

“Upon extinguishing the fire a deceased person was located inside the residence,” police said in media release.
Members of the major crime section are currently working with the Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal to determine the cause of the fire, police said.
Police tape remained around the scene Saturday afternoon and an investigator with the OFM was on site.
