On December 13, 2022, UNESCO officially launched its International Decade of Indigenous Languages. This ten-year event aims to draw global attention to the need to preserve indigenous languages around the world.
Because the figures are alarming: according to UNESCO data, at least 40% of the more than 6,700 languages spoken in the world are threatened with extinction in the long term, for lack of speakers. The disappearance of these languages also leads to the disappearance of the heritage… How to preserve them?
