Paulo Camara, governor of the state of Pernambuco, told local media that the focus now is on finding those still missing in the landslides and floods in the area, Reuters reports.
“We will not stop until we find the missing, it is fundamental,” he said.
The risk of more floods is still high and on Tuesday, Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro visited the state. He promised help and more resources to the families affected.
This is the fourth major flood in five months in the country.
