The death toll has continued to rise following the fire at a golf ball factory in southern Taiwan. A total of nine people have died after two more people have been confirmed dead. Four of the dead are supposed to be firefighters.

Around 100 people are said to have been injured in connection with the fire and one person is still missing.

The fire, which broke out on Friday evening local time, was followed by explosions and according to the authorities, natural gas may have contributed to the explosions during the extinguishing work. The cause of the fire has not been determined and will be investigated.
