TOM PARKER. Singer Tom Parker, who was propelled by the boy band The Wanted, died at just 33 years old.
A “tragic and premature death”. It is with these words that the group The Wanted announces the death of its singer, Tom Parker, on Wednesday March 30, 2022. “Max, Jay, Siva, Nathan and the entire Wanted family are devastated by the tragic and untimely passing of our companion bandmate, Tom Parker, who passed away peacefully at lunchtime,” read a message posted to the band’s Instagram account. “Tom was an amazing husband to Kelsey and father to Aurelia and Bodhi. He was our brother, words cannot express the loss and sadness we feel. Always and forever in our hearts,” the members of The Wanted in the same release.
Aged only 33, Tom Parker died of a brain tumor. In October 2020, the artist had publicly revealed his cancer. “We are completely devastated, but we will fight. We do not want your sadness, but simply your love and your optimism. Together, we want to raise awareness of this terrible disease and seek all possible treatments”, wrote in particular the artist and his wife in his Instagram post.
Tom Parker was the traveling companion of the other four members of The Wanted, Max George, Siva Kaneswaran, Jay McGuiness and Nathan Sykes. The group, originally from London, made a name for themselves in 2010 with the release of their first album, The Wanted. Relatively unknown in France, the band had nevertheless broken through with titles like Glad You Came released in 2011 or chasing the sun the next year.
