Born in 1937 in Paris and of Greek origin, he had been Eddy Mitchell’s traveling companion since 1964, when the latter was looking for a pianist for his orchestra, after his departure from the group that had launched him, the Chaussettes Noires. . “Pierre, he’s my brother, summarized Eddy. His wife, Anouk, is godmother to my eldest daughter, Maryline. We always helped each other in difficult times, like my divorce. We never had a shouting match. (…) I never considered an album without him (…). Without Pierre, I would never have made this career”, confided the rocker to the Parisian.
Passionate about jazz, Pierre Papadiamandis had started playing the piano at the age of five, before joining a group and performing in Parisian clubs. In the 1960s, he played alongside Eddy Mitchell and would never leave him. Pierre Papadiamandis had also collaborated with other French or international artists, such as Ray CharlesJohnny Hallyday, Dick Rivers, Michel Delpech or Celine Dion.
