Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

“Barbara Walters passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She lived her life with no regrets. She paved the way not just for women journalists, but for all women,” Walters’ publicist Cindi Berger said in a statement.

Barbara Walters broke through in morning television in the 1960s and in 1976 became the first woman to be named permanent anchor of an evening newscast. For 25 years, she was host and star interviewer for the community magazine “20/20”, as confident with presidents and other statesmen as with movie stars and sportsmen.

In 1997 she also launched the popular talk show “The view”.

During her long career, she interviewed, among others, Barack Obama, Richard Nixon and several other world leaders.

After 53 years as one of America’s most famous television personalities, she retired in 2014, at the age of 84. In the last episode of her program “The view” she was guested by Hillary Clinton and Oprah Winfrey.
