His family announced the news of his death, at the age of 80 in Paris. “He passed away peacefully at the age of 80”, is it soberly written in a statement sent to AFP by his son, Mathieu Simonet, suggesting that no disease took away the actor and director .
Jacques Perrin, born in Paris on July 13, 1941, shot in more than 70 films from the 1950s. “His soft voice and his gray hair turned white were familiar to the general public”, writes AFP in particular. After having started on the boards, he appeared at the cinema in “The Skin of the Bear” (1957) and “The Girl with a Suitcase” (1960). He collaborated with the greatest filmmakers in the 1960s: Costa-Gavras, Chabrol, Demy, and distinguished himself in various registers (detective, musical, fantastic). He founded his own production company in 1968: Reggane Films. We see him in “Cinema Paradisio” in 1988 but he devoted himself more and more to production (“Microcosmos” in 1996) and directing (“Le Peuple migrateur” in 2001). In the 2000s, he appeared in “Le Pacte des loups” (2001), “Les Choristes” (2004) and directed “Oceans” in 2009.
