Death of funk pioneer “Fuzzy” Haskins

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Haskins was one of the original members of the George Clinton-led The Parliaments, the doo wop group that evolved into the seminal funk groups Parliament and Funkadelic.

George Clinton announced Haskin’s passing on social media. No cause of death has been given.

“We’ve lost his frequency,” writes the group’s bassist Bootsy Collins on Twitter.

Together with his bandmates – who collectively go by the collective name Parliament-Funkadelic – he was inducted into the Rock Hall of Fame in 1997.

“Fuzzy” Haskins left Parliament-Funkadelic in 1977, but among the songs he wrote, the early success “I got a thing, you got a thing, everybody’s got a thing” is noticeable.
