Emile’s parents spoke for the first time since the discovery of the little boy’s bones. The mother says she is “very touched” by the much support they have received.
Their speech is rare. The parents of little Emile broke their silence this Wednesday, April 17, three weeks after the discovery of bones belonging to their son. It’s on the “Let’s pray for Emile” groupcreated on Facebook after the disappearance of the little boy, that the child’s mother spoke out for the first time since the investigation confirmed Emile’s death.
The little boy’s family sent a “huge thank you” to the many supports they received. This thank you is particularly addressed to the hundreds of people who participated in the prize pool put online early April to “help [la famille] to offer a beautiful burial” to Emile and masses for his loved ones. It was already on this group that the mother spoke for the first time in July 2023, two days after Emile’s disappearance.
Emile’s family “very touched” by the support and compassion
Hundreds of people, nearly 650 as of April 17, participated in the fundraiser dedicated to family support. The amount raised is not public, but Emile’s parents say they “received a first part”. “We are always very touched by your compassion” adds the little boy’s mother in her message. In addition to financial support for the child’s burial, the family says they receive many messages of support and try to read them all “whether comments, private messages, letters…”
Little Emile, who was two and a half years old, disappeared on July 8, 2023 in the hamlet of Haut-Vernet, in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, while he was being looked after by his maternal grandparents.
