According to several American media, including The Guardianhe would however have died of “natural causes”.

Born on May 12, 1928, Burt Bacharach had seen his notoriety explode from the 1960s, in particular thanks to songs like Don’t Make Me Over, Walk On By, I Say a Little Prayer, Anyone Who Had a Heart and the Oscar winner Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on My Head. Burt Bacharach also composed the song The look of love, soundtrack of Casino Royale from 1967

So many titles associated with what music fundamentalists call the easy listening, or… elevator music, which Burt Bacharach knew how to make popular and recognized, some considering him rather as one of the greatest geniuses of pop. It was also he who launched, in 1962, the singer Dionne Warwick.

If he had started out as an arranger or pianist, it was his meeting with the lyricist Hal David in 1957 that marked the decisive turning point in his career. Two of their songs also rose to the top of the charts in the United Kingdom, where Burt Bacharach remains very popular: The Story of My Life by Marty Robbins and Magic Moments by Perry Como. During his career and among his 500 titles, he will have offered to pop some of his greatest classics.
