(Finance) – “Once again this year, with the beginning of the school year approaching, there is talk of expensive books, but what certainly does not increase is the margin of booksellers which, in fact, has been continuously decreasing in recent years”. Paul Ambrosini, president of the Confcommercio booksellers intervenes in the debate on dear books. “There is certainly an urgency – specifies Ambrosini – for interventions to support families, such as the tax deduction for all equal to medical expenses and the increase in funds for the right to study from the current 133 million euros to at least 170 million, but also the need to adjust the expenditure ceiling for texts adopted by study cycle to inflation, never adequate since 2012. In fact, this year, in order to respect the ceiling, teachers had to give up choosing a text to support their teaching activity, thus depriving pupils of a useful tool for learning.”
