Deadpool Wolverine star made his colleague laugh so much

Deadpool & Wolverine has hit the cinemas and given Marvel fans a real cameo fest full of familiar faces from the superhero world. One of the most surprising ‒ and funniest ‒ guest appearances consists of Channing Tatum as Gambitwho was remembered above all for his unique dialect.

However, this caused Logan star Dafne Keen, who once again took on the role of Laura aka X23 in the action blockbuster, to have a lot of trouble concentrating.

Dafne Keen had to laugh at Channing Tatum while filming Deadpool & Wolverine

Keen was seen as Laura aka X23 in Deadpool & Wolverine not only alongside Jennifer Garner’s Elektra and Wesley Snipes’ Blade, but also alongside Channing Tatum as Gambit. In the podcast Phase Zero, she explained that filming with the Magic Mike star turned out to be a real challenge because she constantly laugh at him had to:

I had to tell him he wasn’t allowed to say his lines in my scene. I kept getting out of character because I was doing my brooding Wolverine vibe. I was like, ‘Yeah, let’s just fucking go.’ And then he came up and said, ‘I put my nut in my pantry…’ ‘No, shut up. I have to do my job. You’re making this so damn hard for me.’

Gambit also provided amusement for Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) in Deadpool & Wolverine. The loudmouthed Södner even recommends that Tatum’s character in the Marvel blockbuster get a speech coach. So it’s no wonder that Keen had difficulty taking Tatum seriously in his role, even though she showed great admiration for his acting talent:

But he’s so good. Even when he says, ‘I’m going to make something of myself.’ I’m like, ‘No.’ I’m completely calm and collected again and this guy just barks in my ear. He was also right in front of me in a frontal shot. You can probably see me somewhere [vor lachen] die.Is there going to be a Gambit movie with Channing Tatum?

After the film’s huge success, it remains to be seen whether Deadpool & Wolverine will be your only chance to see Tatum as Gambit on the big screen. However, fans shouldn’t get their hopes up too much. A Gambit film with Tatum in the lead role that had been planned for years was officially canceled by Disney in 2019.
