The 16-year-old was found shot on a cycle path between Barrsätra and Vallhov in Sandviken late on Tuesday evening. He was taken to hospital by ambulance, but his life could not be saved. The police have started a preliminary investigation regarding murder.
On Thursday afternoon, the police stated that new information claims that the shooting took place in the criminal environment.
– At the moment, the police cannot go into what information led to that connection, but as there is speculation about what is behind the boy’s death, I want to clarify the direction of the investigation work for now, says Karin Wessén, acting section head at the investigation section in the Gävleborg police area, in a press release.
