January 9, 2015, 1:00 p.m. Shabbat Eve. The Hyper Cacher at Porte de Vincennes, in Paris, welcomes many customers. It was then that Amedy Coulibaly entered the convenience store. Heavily armed, the man advances without hesitation. Three people fall under his bullets, shot in cold blood. Seventeen others are taken hostage. A little later, a customer hiding in the basement comes back into the store. A weapon left on the ground attracts his attention. He grabs it. But the noise alerts Coulibaly. The terrorist turns around, aims, shoots. The young man collapses. The weapon he had grabbed had jammed.

While elite units of the national police surround the store, the madman calls BFM TV. In a calm tone, he claims his action in a chilling voice. He said he chose the kosher grocery store because he was targeting Jews, claiming to defend oppressed Muslims, particularly in Palestine.

At 5:12 p.m., the police launched the attack, coordinated with that in Dammartin-en-Goële. Amedy Coulibaly rushes towards the front door, shooting blindly. Two police officers are injured. The police responded. A burst. Coulibaly collapses, struck down by dozens of bullets. The attack will leave four victims: Yohan Cohen, Philippe Braham, François-Michel Saada and Yoav Hattab.
