While the livestream mainly focused on how the remake improves upon the sound of the original Dead Space, the game developers at EA’s Motive studio raised a question about the remake’s release date.
Philippe Ducharme, senior producer of the Dead Space remake, said, “We want to make sure we’re in a place where our game will meet the expectations of fans. That’s the most important thing. Early next year. We have a date in mind. For that, we want to make sure that everything comes together.” said.
Friday’s livestream, which also featured creative director Campos-Oriola and sound director Olivier Asselin, detailed key updates to Dead Space’s haunting sound. The developers highlighted how weapons like protagonist Isaac Clarke’s Plasma Cutter will sound and how its breathing, heart rate and dialogue will add to the aural atmosphere of the game.
EA and Motive announced the production of Dead Space Remake last July. They promised that the remake of the 2008 sci-fi survival horror game will “offer an enhanced story, characters, gameplay mechanics, and more” as you fight to survive in a living nightmare aboard the desolate mining starship USG Ishimura.
Dead Space Remake is coming to PlayStation 5, Windows PC and Xbox Series X.
