A dead person has been found outdoors in Umeå. As there are unclear circumstances surrounding the death, a preliminary investigation into murder has been initiated, the police state.
It was passers-by who found the dead person in a wooded area near a residential area, Västerbottens-Kuriren reports.
The location has been cordoned off and is to be examined by crime scene technicians. Any witnesses in the area must be heard.
The alarm reached the police at 19.21. The dead person had not yet been identified at half past ten on Wednesday evening, and the police are therefore not giving any further details.
