A dead person was found this morning in a burned-out car south of Vemhån, in Härjedalen. The police have opened a preliminary investigation into murder and three people have been arrested.
– It was a person who saw a burning car who raised the alarm, says police spokesperson Åsa Mjörndal.
The cause of death and the cause of the fire are unclear and the police are investigating whether any crime has been committed in connection with the incident. At the moment, the classification is murder, which may change based on what the investigation shows, the police write.
The body was found early Sunday morning in connection with the car fire being extinguished.
Three men were arrested during the morning and will be interrogated before a prosecutor makes a decision on whether they should be arrested or released.
The police are tight-lipped about the investigation. Åsa Mjörndal does not want to comment on why the three men are suspects.
The dead person has not yet been identified. A technical survey must also be carried out on site.
