On March 9, the remains were flushed after an unknown man on the island of Sula on the Norwegian Trøndelag coast.
Now the person has been identified-as a 73-year-old Scottish fisherman who disappeared almost four years ago.
The man from Scotland was reported missing in October 2021, after he went out to fish. His boat was found later, but the man had disappeared without a trace.
Norwegian Kripos managed to identify the remains through a DNA search in Interpol’s search register.
