Folie à deux: What does the title of Joker 2 mean?
The term folie à deux – a mental disorder in twos – is understood in medicine as one induced delusional disorder. In concrete terms, this means that two people who have a close emotional connection share a delusional disorder. However, only one of the two people actually suffers from this.
The other person has one acquisition of delusionscaused by being with the sick person. Once the couple separates, the delusions usually go away. In the context of Joker 2, that could mean we’ll see Harley Quinn in the sequel.
