In Kinshasa, several processions are announced by the religious authorities. According to the program, in the capital alone, fifteen processions set off this Sunday after the first mass at 6:30 a.m. And for the occasion, all the other religious services, which usually punctuate this day on Sunday, are canceled.
The objective of this gathering initiated by the Congolese Church is to denounce ” the war of oppression imposed on the ground floor and the hypocrisy of the international community “. To get their message across, in Kinshasa, several processions are supposed to head towards representations of Monusco, the UN mission in the country, the United Nations and towards the embassy district.
But the Cenco warned him, these demonstrations are not political rallies. Party affiliations should not be displayed even if representatives of the government and the opposition are expected at the various gatherings. If Catholics across the country are called to demonstrate this Sunday morning, it will not be the case for all cities. In Goma, the rally was canceled by the organizers for “ avoid possible infiltration “.
At the end of these different gatherings, a message from the Church should be read. This memorandum will be delivered on Monday to the headquarters of political institutions, embassies and international organizations.
