    Release of Dawntrail

    When is the expansion coming out? In the summer of 2024. There is no exact release date yet. Before that there will be patch 6.5 in October 2023 and patch 6.55 in January 2024.

    This is how it will continue after the release: After the release of Dawntrail there will be some big updates in the usual rhythm. Normally a patch with a whole number appears about every 4 months, e.g. patch 7.1 or 7.2. In between there are small updates.

    Final Fantasy XIV is coming to Xbox

    Final Fantasy XIV has been available to play on PC and PlayStation for years. This works on both PS4 and PS5. So far, however, there has not been a version for the Xbox. That will change by 2024 at the latest.

    FFXIV is slated for release on Xbox Series S/X in Spring 2024. Before that there will already be an open beta test with patch 6.5 in October. The Xbox version is said to offer 4K support and faster loading times.

    Will there be crossplay? Yes, the Xbox players can gamble with all other platforms.

    What do we know about the areas? Dawntrail takes you to a whole new continent, centered on the capital Tuliyollal. Visually, the new region appears to be inspired by Mesoamerican and Indonesian culture.

    Described as the sea of ​​the federal nation-state that governs Tural, Tuliyollal is located in the north of the country. The ruler of the nation is Gulool Ja Ja, a two-headed Mamool Ja. The city values ​​living in nature and is therefore not very industrialized.

    Urqopacha is a very mountainous region of Tural. It is home to races that are naturally both very large and unusually small. Their settlements can be seen throughout the region’s mountains.

    The presentation states: More than a thousand years ago, long before the Tuliyollal came into existence, Urqopacha was the proud heart of the vast empire that spanned the entire Yok Tural. While their descendants live on in the region, only ruins remain of the empire’s glory days.

    The third area of ​​the expansion is called Yak Tel and is a forest region. One slide of the presentation states: The foliage is so dense that the forest floor receives little sunlight. The main settlements of Turals Hrothgar and Mamool Ja are located here, and there are stunning cenotes that contain azure pools and springs.

    What do we know about the instances? With the extension there should be all kinds of instances:

    • What do we know about the jobs? There is currently a lack of details here. The only thing that is certain is that there will be a melee and a magical ranged DPS. However, there are already speculations, because the boss of the game, Naoki Yoshida, always gives hidden clues with his t-shirt.

    This time he was wearing a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles shirt. Some players are therefore speculating about a class with a staff like Donatello or nunchucks like Michelangelo. That would be an explanation for the Meele class.

    Others assume that the artist class from Final Fantasy VI could be meant because the 4 Ninja Turtles are named after artists.

    What else does Dawntrail bring? All sorts of little things, including:

  • You can dye equipment parts with two colors in the future
  • Glasses and headpieces should be able to be worn at the same time
  • The furniture placement limit will be increased
  • There’s a new strategy board to better coordinate positions for battles

    What’s behind the graphics update? With the new expansion there will also be a major graphic update. The focus is on higher resolutions of textures and shadows, better lighting, better weather effects and beautified character models.
