Country artist David Ritschard cancels his gigs in Denmark next weekend after the collapse of “Allsång på Skansen”. Tønderfestivalen regrets the news in a press release, but “hopes to be able to present him at a later date”.
It was on Tuesday evening that Ritschard had to be carried out on a stretcher from the Solliden stage after he collapsed during the live broadcast of “Allsången”. On Thursday, the artist himself commented on the incident on Instagram with the words “Feel well under the circumstances”.
The incident sparked debate about whether SVT should have stopped the artist from performing, something that SVT’s CEO Hanna Stjärne dismissed in a comment to TT:
A lot can happen live and it was handled very professionally, she said.
David Ritschard would have appeared at the Tønder Festival on August 25 and 26.
