Mike Duif died at the age of 26 in his own flat on the Ariaweg in Amersfoort. He had been shot with multiple bullets through his head and body. He was found in the evening by a roommate. The crime remained unsolved for a long time, until an anonymous witness reported to the police cold case team in 2020. In the investigation that followed, more evidence was found, because L. confessed to two undercover agents that he had shot the man.
