“The increase is a trend break and may be the result of the proactive supervision that the Law Society conducts,” said Mia Edwall Insulander, the Law Society’s secretary general in a press release.
In total, the Disciplinary Board decided 229 cases, where 145 cases led to the lawyer receiving a penalty. In total, five people were excluded from the Law Society.
Last year, the amount limit for penalty charges was increased when lawyers seriously violated good legal practice. The amount is now between SEK 10,000 and 250,000.
In a total of 28 cases, lawyers were awarded a warning with a penalty.

According to the law, which has been valid for about a year, prosecutors may decide to freeze assets for persons suspected or convicted of terrorist offenses.
– It will be used to prevent terrorist measures and there we have made the first freezing decisions last year, says Chief Prosecutor Per Lindqvist, who has taken two of them, to Ekot.
