When the planners for a large data center in Östersund were presented a year ago, it was said that the shovel would be in the ground this year. The entire establishment would be completed in 2026.
But that will not be the case.

Jämtkraft, which owns one of the properties for the establishment, chooses to slow down the pace of the preparatory work, and cancels a tender for ground work.
– We had originally thought of a fast track, with an electricity connection with lower power, and with the risk of interruption, but it is not interesting for those who want to establish a business, says Ylva Andersson, CEO of Jämtkraft to SVT Nyheter Jämtland.
– Now we are working towards a connection to the new electricity grid, with a completely uninterrupted connection in the second half of 2027, she says.
SVT has spoken to John Wernvik at Ecodatacenter, who says that the delay does not significantly affect the plans.
