The Little Things starring Jared Leto sparks a sinister hunt for serial killers
The film, directed by John Lee Hancock, takes place in Los Angeles in the 1990s and is about the two police officers Joe “Deke” Deacon (Denzel Washington) and Baxter (Rami Malek). Both are on the Hunt for a serial killer who has already killed six people. While Deke himself is hiding a dark secret from his past, the mysterious Albert (Jared Leto) is increasingly being targeted by the protagonists as a suspect.
The Little Things not only takes place in the 90s, but also looks strong like the films and especially thrillers from this decade. This is certainly also due to the fact that the director Screenplay written in 1993 and was only able to film it almost 30 years later.
Anyone who likes works like Seven, Zodiac – The Killer’s Trail and The Silence of the Lambs or series like Dahmer will quickly feel “at ease” with The Little Things. In addition to stars like Denzel Washington, Rami Malek and Jared Leto, the crime thriller trumps above all through the dense atmosphere that paints Los Angeles as the scene like a dark abyss.
Through the pleasantly old-fashioned arc of suspense, The Little Things slowly builds up to one shocking climaxafter which the inner demons of the characters are difficult to distinguish from each other.
