He allegedly leaked information to a total of six people, two of whom were journalists, according to the Danish public prosecutor’s office. This must have happened during a 16-17 month long period, when he was taken out of service.
On December 8 last year, the Danish security police stated that four people had been arrested on suspicion of having leaked top secret information from the country’s two intelligence services. At a re-arrest hearing in January this year, it was clear that one of them was Lars Findsen.
– This is complete madness and you are welcome to quote me on that, Findsen said then in the courtroom to journalists present before the negotiations started.
In total, he was detained for 71 days, but was then released in February. The prosecutor demands that he be sentenced to prison.
