The Danish journalist Matilde Kimer is deprived of her press accreditation in Ukraine and can therefore no longer work in the country, according to the Danish newspaper Journalisten.

The decision is said to have been made in early December, when the Ukrainian security service accused Kimer of conducting “propaganda for the enemy”.

For the past two years, Kimer has been Danmarks Radio’s correspondent in Russia, and according to Ukraine, it is suspected that she went to Donetsk and the Crimean Peninsula several times and called Russia – calls she herself says were to talk to neighbors about her apartment.

– I don’t think they have seen or heard my features at all, she tells Journalisten.

In August, she was denied entry to Russia citing “security and defense reasons” and is not allowed to return to the country until 2032.

For his reporting on the war in Ukraine, Kimer was nominated last week for the Cavling Prize, one of Denmark’s finest journalistic awards.
