Danish drink is taking a fight against Coca Cola

Several Swedes have started to boycott American products after a series of actions from the president Donald Trump. For many it simply became too much when Trump claimed that Ukraine’s president Volodyyr Zelenskyj is a dictator who is not looking for peace.

It is not only in Sweden that you have tired of Trump, but also in Denmark where the boycott is in full swing. News24 Has previously written about a shop owner in Denmark who testified about customers who have been furious that she sold US goods.

At the same time, an old Danish drink has seen his chance in the market: Jolly Cola. In a new advertising campaign, you go hard against the United States and refer to Jolly Cola as a Danish alternative to American Coca Cola, something that Danish TV2 was the first to report.

– We face an interest that is on the market. Now people are starting to take an interest in where their goods come from. Therefore, it is only natural that we show what we are, says Thomas LindegaardMarketing manager at the Vestfyen brewery, which today owns the Jolly brand, to the canal.

At Jolly Cola’s advertising bands, an American cowboy hat turns against a Danish “Claphat” with the message: 0 percent USA, 100 percent Danish.

– That in Jolly’s DNA to be the answer to the global cola brands, says Lindegaard to The channel.
