Before the final, first-seeded Navarro, 55th in the world ranking, was the favorite to take home the victory. But Olga Danilovic, ranked 94th, managed to shine.
The match started evenly, and the first set was won by Danilovic after a tiebreak. Navarro then showed why she was the early favorite, winning the second set 6–3.
The third and decisive?
There it was Danilovic who was the strongest, going from 3–0 and then winning 6–3.
Danilovic has a WTA title earlier in her career, five years ago, when she took home the Moscow River Cup in 2018.
