This progress is made at the expense of Jannik Sinner, who is down two ranks. Winner last year of the Washington tournament, the Italian had decided this year to skip this meeting. Australian Nick Kyrgios, who signed his rebirth by winning his first tournament in three years in Washington on Sunday, gained 26 places, to 37th position in the world hierarchy. The finalist of the last Wimbledon had not occupied a better ranking since February 2020.
