(Finance) – Danielia group listed on Euronext Milan and one of the world’s largest manufacturers of machinery and systems for the metallurgical industry, has closed the half yearly to 31 December 2023 with operating revenues to 2,072.1 million euros (+11% compared to the same period of 2022), a EBITDA to 160.6 million euros (+10%) and a net profit attributable to the group to 98.8 million euros (+33%).
The results of the first half of 2023/2024 confirm the forecasts of a decline in profitability in steel production (Steel Making) and an improvement in the design and supply of steel plants (Plant Making), we read in the note on the accounts.
The two activities they continue to offset each other in the up and down of economic cycles: steel consumption drops immediately in the down phase, while opportunities for Plant Making grow thanks to the excellent budget results that steel producers achieved in the up phase, results that allow investments to improve competitiveness also in green production steel.
Danieli states that it is presumable that i next 6 months they will be characterized by the current trend and for the group, the compensation between the results of the two steel and plant making activities continues, allowing us to confirm the closing forecasts for the 2023/2024 financial year and to configure those for the 2024/2025 financial year which have the objective of maintaining and possibly improve the expected results for this exercise.
The order book is well diversified by geographical area and product line and amounts, at 31 December 2023, to 6,034 million euros (of which 331 million euros in the special steel production sector) compared to 6,200 million euros at 30 June 2023 ( of which 369 million euros for special steels), without also including some important contracts already signed but not yet entered into force pending the completion of the related financial package.
The number of employees of the group as of 31 December 2023 is 10,054 units, of which 1,594 are employed in the Steel Making sector and 8,460 units in the Plant Making sector, increased by 322 units compared to the number of 9,732 employees as of 30 June 2023.
